JEWELLJITS
About Me

I'm Travis. Most people call me Jewell — a few just yell FRIGGIN DAMN JEWELL across a parking lot, and honestly, that one's on me. I did four years in the Marine Corps, and now I make comedy about military life.
0341, infantry mortarman. 1/6 Bravo Company for most of my enlistment, 2015 to 2019, two deployments. Most of the material comes from there. I don't have to make much up.
Getting out was its own kind of hard, and nobody really warns you. I went through MSSA — a veteran transition program — and came out the other side a software engineer. Finished a bachelor's in cybersecurity, wrote code for a few years, did product management for a few more. On paper it was the clean version of the transition everybody tells you to want.
In December 2025 I started making videos instead. It actually started as transition advice — help for guys getting out, since I'd already done it the long way. Then the skits took over. Turns out what people needed wasn't another checklist. It was a laugh.
It's grown into a few hundred thousand people who see life and the military about the same way I do. That part still gets me.
The "jits" is jiu-jitsu — ten-plus years on the mats. It's not what I make videos about, but it's a big piece of who I turned into, and anybody who's known me a while knows that.
That's the whole thing. If I made someone smile today, I did my job.
